PhD in Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Khazar
Course level
Scholarship is available to pursue only PhD program.
Study subject
Scholarship is awarded to the Petroleum Engineering department within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
If selected the applicant will also be offered a paid researcher position in a research team working on a fully funded industry scale research project, where he/she will be given an opportunity to work with real field data.
Scholarship award
Scholarship will cover both the program tuition fee and monthly student stipend for the duration of the program.
Opportunity for the selected applicant to be fully engaged in the real industry research and be part of Khazar University Research Center
Applicant requirements
Applicants must possess a post-graduate diploma (MSc) from local or foreign universities in Geosciences or Petroleum Related Disciplines.
The program is in English and in order to be considered applicants must possess an adequate proficiency in the English language.
Applicants must have a clear understanding of basin and reservoir geology as well as rock mechanics, and good awareness of the petrophysical evaluation of well logs.
Applicants must be open to teach and share their knowledge as they will be offered a teaching position at the university during the duration of the PhD program.
Eligibility criteria
The successful applicants should meet the following criteria:
Good academic performance records of the previous education stage (high school, bachelor or master programs)
Good English language skills. Standardized English language test scores are not compulsory. However, the applicants with standardized scores (valid TOEFL/IELTS scores: expired scores are not accepted) will have competitive advantage. Holders of International Bachelor degree certificates or diplomas from a high school with English as a major medium of instruction do not need a language skill justification document
IT skills and fluency in programming languages such as Matlab, Pyton, and etc. are very welcomed. Applicant with aforementioned skills will have competitive advantage.
Motivated to study at Khazar University with good scientific research and communication skills.
