Commonwealth Masters & PhD fully funded Scholarships in UK for Developing Countries 2018


ABOUT

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) awards over 800 scholarships and fellowships for postgraduate study and professional development to Commonwealth citizens each year.

The CSC aims to contribute to the UK’s international development aims and wider overseas interests, support excellence in UK higher education, and sustain the principles of the Commonwealth. Candidates are selected on the basis of merit and their potential to contribute to the needs of their home countries


KINDS OF SCHOLARSHIPS

1. MASTERS

AREAS OF INTEREST

  1. Science and technology for development

  2. Strengthening health systems and capacity

  3. Promoting global prosperity

  4. Strengthening global peace, security and governance

  5. Strengthening resilience and response to crises

ELIGIBILITY

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person

  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country

  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2018

  • By October 2018, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)

  • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship


2. PHD

AREAS OF INTEREST

  • Strengthening health systems and capacity

  • Strengthening global peace, security and governance

  • Strengthening resilience and response to crises

  • Access, inclusion and opportunity

ELIGIBILITY

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person

  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country

  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2018

  • By October 2018, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)

  • NOT be registered for a PhD, or an MPhil leading to a PhD, at a UK university before September/October 2018

  • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
